Upon arrival I was greeted by the most unhelpful and unprofessional receptionist I’ve ever encountered. MANUELA. She was ignorant, unhelpful and downright rude. Couldn’t have cared less about the mix up they caused with our room. Then when the other staff arrived she just up and left whilst in the middle of dealing with us. THEN a fist fight breaks out in reception between one of the receptionists and a memeber of staff I’m assuming was a maintenance worker. They were kicking and punching each other all over the reception area and it terrified other guests. The other, ‘man’ with glasses working reception didn’t even think to help his colleague and when we asked him for a refund he grinned and said “I couldn’t care less”. This is the kind of attitude you are confronted with at the barkston rooms. It’s unclean, dangerous and is a downright undesirable place to stay. Not only will I not be back but I will continue to spread the word of it it’s absolute chaotic and dangerous environment. And again, thanks for all your help MANUELA (sarcasm intended).

I wouldn't want to stay here again. Good price and location. However first room were given was dirty and we requested a new room. I wouldnt say this is a hostel for travelers but more of a half way house. If you have luggage there are no lifts and most of the rooms are on the 3rd level or higher. The shower was tiny. Litterly the smallest one I've ever seen. Not even a foot between the door and the shower. The new room and bathrooms are clean. Can't put my finger in it. Just didn't get a good vibe from the place

Very dirty rooms and sanitary installations. Missing door on shower. Toilet paper doesn't get refilled every day (we went a full day without it). Crowded rooms without space to put your space and no lockers in dorm room. Had terrible back pain from the uncomfortable beds. At least, it is well located, still wouldn't recommend it.
