Clink261 is the oldest hostel its own chain, can be found within a former Student Union building in central London. Renowned for its relaxed and welcoming vibe, the hostel first opened its doors over fifteen years ago. Time sure does fly! The smallest hostel in own chain has come a long way since then, but it’s still got that laid-back atmosphere that backpackers love.

Very clean room, clean toilets/common areas. Great location – 2 min walk from Kings Cross Station and a Co-op (small food store) right next door. No curfew or lock outs which is great, however since people come in and out at late times you will hear it at 2am or so. The rooms get really warm so you’ll end up sleeping on top of your covers with the window open. Staff were nice.” Asia Llama – Reviews – Google

“I like it here so much so that I have returned a couple of times. There are bigger, brasher hostels in London but I like the simplicity of Clink 261. Ok the rooms are a bit cramped but you are in central London and can work around it (See tip below). Beds are comfy and I had power and light to my bed as well as locker underneath (bring padlock). Room was nice and warm but I was also able to moderate radiator output when needed. Common area next to self catering kitchen served a lot of traveller interaction and the £2 breakfast is simple but plentiful. Happy hour drinks are served in bar in sister hostel around the corner although you can bring alcohol into the common room. I stayed in an 8 bed dorm this time and found that you had just a little bit more room space despite full occupancy. Recommended.” Coffers – Tripadvisiors

Tiny rooms, decent everything. Good experience for me (single female traveler)” – Melanie Mallory – Reviews – Google
